🌴Vacation
Paid vacation time and vacation pay, set by years of service and provincial standards. The vacation year runs January 1 to December 31.
Commonly asked
How much vacation do I get?
10 days per year under 5 years of service, 15 days at 5 years or more. Vacation pay is 4% of eligible wages (6% after 5 years). It’s prorated in your first year at about 0.83 days per completed month.
Is my vacation paid?
Hourly employees get 4% vacation pay on every semi-monthly cheque, so vacation days taken are unpaid. Salaried employees keep their regular salary during approved vacation.
How do I request it?
Submit Bell’s Sick and Vacation Days Request Form at least two weeks before your dates. Approval or denial comes back to your Puulse email, and time can’t be taken until approved.
Can I carry unused days over?
With approval, up to 10 days can carry into the next vacation year, but must be used that year and can’t be carried again. If a stat holiday or sick day falls during vacation, you get that day back.

⏱Attendance
Expected hours, how to report absences, and how culpable vs non-culpable absences are handled. Absences are reported through a request form, not a text.
Commonly asked
What are my standard hours?
Administrative staff work Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM–6:00 PM with a one-hour meal break. Door-to-door sales reps work Tuesday to Saturday with a 30-minute meal break; shift times are communicated by your manager.
How do I report an absence or lateness?
Complete the Sick and Vacation Leave Request Form at least 90 minutes before your shift starts. If an emergency makes that impossible, notify Puulse as soon as you reasonably can.
What’s the difference between culpable and non-culpable?
Culpable absences are within your control (no-shows, unapproved time off, repeated lateness) and are logged as ‘Unapproved’, leading to progressive discipline. Non-culpable absences (illness, emergencies, approved leave) are handled supportively, not through discipline.
When is it considered job abandonment?
Repeated culpable absences move through verbal, written, and final warnings up to termination. Puulse may accelerate steps based on severity or frequency.

🧾Expenses & Reimbursement
Reimbursement for reasonable business travel, car rentals, gas, and tools. Claims are submitted through Expensify; corporate card purchases are not.
Commonly asked
How do I submit a claim?
Submit an expense report in Expensify within five days of the expense, with itemized receipts showing amount, date, vendor, and purpose. Only personal-card spending goes through Expensify; corporate-card purchases are kept on file for Finance instead.
What’s the meal allowance?
Meals are reimbursed only during overnight travel where no kitchen is available, up to $40 CAD per day (three meals) and no more than $200 CAD per week. Alcohol is never reimbursed and is prohibited during work hours.
What about using my own car?
Travel within a 40km radius of your assigned regional office isn’t business travel. Beyond that, personal-vehicle use is reimbursed per the Carpool and Vehicle for Business Use policy; parking tickets, repairs, and towing are not.
When do I get paid back?
Within five days following the payroll period in which you submit a complete, approved claim, paid by direct deposit through payroll. Late or incomplete claims may be refused.

🛡Code of Conduct & Ethics
The standards everyone upholds: honesty, integrity, and respect. Covers conflicts of interest, company assets, confidentiality, and how to report concerns.
Commonly asked
What behaviour is expected of me?
Act honestly and in good faith, comply with all laws and Puulse policies (including Bell’s where applicable), and treat everyone with dignity regardless of role. Adherence to the Code is a condition of employment.
What counts as a conflict of interest?
Personal financial interests, outside business, or family/close relationships that could influence your work. Disclose them in writing to a Manager, HR, or Legal and get written approval first. Managers can’t hire or supervise family or close friends.
Does the Code apply outside work hours?
Yes. Off-duty conduct that harms Puulse’s reputation, its client relationships (including Bell), or your ability to do your job can lead to discipline up to termination.
How do I report a violation, and am I protected?
Report to your manager, HR, or Legal, reporting known or suspected violations is required, and failing to report can itself breach the Code. Retaliation against good-faith reporting is treated as serious misconduct.
